Ruiru Juja Water and Sewerage Water Company (RUJWASCO) was incorporated in March 2006 under the Kenya Companies Act Chapter 486 and commenced operations in October 2006.  It is fully owned by the County Government of Kiambu and regulated by WASREB, while the asset holding body, Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) is charged with the responsibility of developing key water and sewerage infrastructure.

Our mandate is to provide water and sanitation services in Ruiru, Juja, and Githurai Sub-counties of Kiambu County.

ruiruboardThe County Government of Kiambu wishes to recruit Board Members to join the Board of Directors of Ruiru-Juja Water & Sewerage Company Ltd.

Ruiru-Juja Water & Sewerage Company Ltd is a Water Service Provider wholly owned by the County Government of Kiambu mandated with providing water and sanitation services within Ruiru & Juja Sub counties.

The Board of Directors of the Company comprises of stakeholders identified as per the memorandum and articles of association in line with the regulator’s guidelines.

The Company is committed to upholding the principle of the two-thirds gender rule as enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya and aims to enhance gender balance on its Board.

The Company has one (1) vacancy to be filled by a nominee from any of the below stakeholders operating within the Company’s service area, with strong preference given to a female candidate to meet governance and diversity targets:

  1. Business Community
  2. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
  3. People living with Disability (PWDs)
  4. Cooperatives

Applications are invited from the nominees of the above-mentioned stakeholders’ who must meet the following criteria:

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree from an institution recognized in Kenya.
  2. Demonstrate experience and acumen in a business or any profession or trade for at least 5 years.
  3. Demonstrate participation in local development initiatives.
  4. Be in good standing with the nominating organization; and
  5. Be a resident within the Company’s service area.

How to apply

All applications must be accompanied by; 

  1. Copies of their detailed curriculum vitae with names, address and telephone contacts of three referees. Academic and professional certificates, testimonials, national identity card or passport and any other supporting documents.
  2. A letter of nomination from the above-named organization or relevant body from

the area of jurisdiction.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to fulfil the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution by submitting clearances from the following institutions.

  1. Kenya Revenue Authority
  2. Ethics & anti- Corruption Commission
  3. Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Certificate of Good Conduct)
  4. Higher Education Loans Board
  5. Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
